Tea & Health

Coffee or tea? What should you decide on? Consider all the benefits of tea so you can make the decision easier.

Tea is great for health. Before you start drinking it daily, make sure you drink real tea. There are different types of teas and not all are good for your health. Tea will only have a positive effect if it is real. Therefore, only take teas from reputable manufacturers.

The health benefits of tea

The health benefits of tea come from polyphenols, a type of antioxidant, and phytochemicals. Although numerous studies have shown that green and black tea are the healthiest, do not give up on other types.

Scientists have found that catechins (antioxidants) from green tea can boost athletic endurance and promote fat burning, which will help you build muscle tissue.

- Tea can reduce the risk of heart attack. Tea can also protect against cardiovascular and degenerative diseases.

- Tea antioxidants can help fight various types of cancer, including breast cancer, colon, skin, lung, esophagus, stomach, appendix, liver, thyroid, ovarian, prostate and oral cavities. But don't think that tea is a magical cure for cancer. Although numerous studies have shown that tea produces positive results, it alone will not cure cancer.

- Tea will help reduce the level of free radicals that can damage DNA. Although the body fights free radicals on its own, it is not 100% effective and needs help. Free radical reduction is truly important as they can increase the risk of cancer, heart disease and neurological degeneration.

- Tea will hydrate your body even though it contains caffeine. After coffee you need to drink at least 2 cups of water because coffee dehydrates the body, while after tea you do not need.

- Tea can help reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease. It has been proven that the best prevention of Parkinson's disease is smoking cessation, increased physical activity and a decrease in body mass index, and regular consumption of tea can further help.

- Tea can help protect against UV rays. We all know how important it is to limit UV exposure, and we have all felt at least once what it is like to get sunburn. The good news is that tea can enhance the action of sunscreens.

- Tea can help to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight. People who consume tea daily have a smaller waist circumference and a lower body mass index. Scientists believe that regular consumption of tea helps reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome can increase the risk of diabetes, circulatory system and stroke.

- Regular consumption of tea can help mitigate the negative effect of smoking and can even help reduce the risk of lung cancer. This does not mean that you still need to continue smoking, but to stop and help with the speed of tea regenerate lung tissue.

- Tea can help people with type 2 diabetes. Research has shown that green tea can help diabetics better break down sugar. Teas can also help prevent sudden changes in sugar levels.

- Tea can help protect against radiation. One study found that tea helps protect cells from radiation and participates in the prevention of cellular degeneration during radiation exposure.

- Tea can help in the growth and development of children. It has been proven that it can enhance bone density and mineral absorption. Daily tea consumption can also help older people suffering from osteoporosis.

- Tea can be very effective in the prevention and treatment of neurological diseases, especially degenerative conditions (Alzheimer's disease). Although many factors affect brain health, green tea polyphenols can help keep the brain healthy and prevent memory and learning difficulties.

What do you need to keep in mind?

Although numerous studies have shown that tea has a positive effect on health, nothing is certain. Therefore, keep in mind some facts before you start drinking tea daily.

Do not drink hot teas - Constant drinking hot drinks can increase the risk of esophageal cancer. Allow the tea to cool for a few minutes before drinking it.

The reaction of the body to teas may be different from person to person. It is best to consult your doctor and nutritionist about what type of tea will work best for you.

Be moderate - Although tea is safe for consumption, do not overdo it. Occasionally drink it cold, occasionally warm. It is important to stay moderate and enjoy yourself.
